During September, protests in Iran became increasingly publicized through media outlets and news coverage due to the death of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old woman who faced police brutality over not wearing head covering.

Many social justice campaigns and humanitarian organizations have joined in order to protest against the Iranian government and its laws forbidding women’s choice on wearing the hijab. Because of this, protests in the United States and throughout the European Union have arose, also causing governments around the world to sanction Iran.
