Spirit of Freedom Marching Band Ends Season with a Celebratory Banquet

On Nov. 16, the FHS band department held its award ceremony for the season in order to recognize and honor students that are a part of the marching band. There are five different groups that make up marching band which include battery percussion, front ensemble, color guard, woodwinds, and brass.

At this event, there were 131 students that were in marching band and approximately 400 people attended the event. Each individual student received a varsity letter and a certificate and those who were second, third, and fourth year members also received a service bar. On top of this, each group of marching band were presented with three different MVP awards.

“I thought that it was a wonderful way to recognize the dedication and hard work of all of our students,” said band teacher Jonathan Schiffler.
