On Friday, Oct. 6, Freedom High School hosted a homecoming parade that involved approximately 800 people from the school and from the community. FHS’ last parade was held in 2012. The parade began at 5:30 p.m. at the Dulles South Recreation Center and it ended in the FHS bus loop. There were 38 different groups in the parade and many participants were carried in Jeeps, which were provided by parents. Some of these groups include homecoming court, each class’s homecoming themed floats, the dance team, DECA, the fire department, and more. Even LCPS’ superintendent Aaron Spence was a part of the parade and was carried in a convertible with FHS principal Neelum Chaudhry.
The parade was followed by the homecoming football game, which started at 7 p.m. It was announced at half time who won the best decorated float and the winner was the junior class.
