Freedom High School students started December and the holiday season with the annual FHS Winter Guitar Concert on Dec. 5.
Students of all skill levels– intermediate, advanced, and artist– performed up to three pieces each. Pieces for intermediate consist of Bell and Pendulum composed by Travis Marcum, Concerto in G composed by Leo Welch and We Wish You a Merry Christmas Tradition by Arr. Welch. Some songs performed by the advanced guitar program was Tokyo- Garden of Pureness composed by Alain Selhorst and Dust in the Wind composed by Kansas, arr. Tanner.
The artist guitar programed performed the pieces Trois Paysages Selenites composed by Luc Levesque and Bell Fantasy composed by Alan Hirsh. Sam Wong and Lillian Green are the two conductors leading the concert with mature christmas songs, as well as regular advanced songs for the students and families to enjoy. This year the guitar program had ten students who made the All-State Guitar Ensemble and the talented students performed a separate piece specifically for them. All-State Guitar students from Freedom High School consist of Ethan Hyun, Ved Lulay, Rhys Castel, Ian Luces, Logan Taylor, Nisarg Oza, Kushal Bora, Isaac Oh, Dheer Negandhi and Ethan Ignacio.
