As of March 13, 2025, Freedom High School has a new assistant principal.
Kevin Throckmorton has 15 years of prior experience in education. He started his teaching career in 2006.
“Prior to being here at Freedom High School, I worked at Dominion High School over in Sterling,” Throckmorton said.
At DHS, he was the Student Activities and Engagement Coordinator for four years. Before that, he was a social science teacher at DHS.
Throckmorton will collaborate with students and families whose last names begin with L-Q and Y. He will engage with the English, world language, health and PE, library departments and the Freedom Ambassadors.
“You’ll probably [also] see me around lunchtime. I have a variety of duties associated with that,” Throckmorton said.
He shared that he is very excited to connect with staff and students, creating positive relationships with them and wanting to learn about unity and core values here at FHS.
“Please stop by and say hi. [I] am looking forward to seeing you all in the hallways!” Throckmorton said.
