On Aug. 28, 2025, Freedom High School’s varsity football team opened the new school year with their first home game of the season against Hilton High School which ended in an intense victory. The Freedom Eagles had a final score of 13 to 7. Freedom’s black out spirit day during school carried over to the pep rally and the football game with new students in every section of the bleachers. The black out theme participation from the Freedom students was clearly seen as support for the varsity football team. During halftime, Freedom had performances by Freedom’s dance team and marching band. The Freedom cheer team also performed throughout the game and led many cheers for the student section.
