On Friday, Dec. 6, the FHS boys varsity basketball team played against Battlefield High School for their third game of the season. The theme of the game was a white out, and students from all grades came out to cheer on the team.

Freedom had a strong start, with the score being 19-12 at the end of first quarter. Points were scored by Jordan Wolin, Robbie Kemmerer, Lance Johnson, Dominic Jones, Alexander Bokman, Elijah Easter and Nick Westfall.

However, by the end of the second quarter, Freedom had fallen behind.

“We allowed them to score too many [points] in the second quarter which made it hard to bring it back,” senior Jalen Harrison said.

At the end of the third quarter, FHS was still not able to catch up. The score was 44-51, and the team had to come up with a plan to get back in the lead.

With four minutes left in the game, Kemmerer scored. The score was 55-54, and the anticipation for who would make the next shot took over the room.

Unfortunately, FHS could not keep up, and Battlefield won.

“We should’ve gone harder,” Harrison said.

Final score 58-62
