On Wednesday Dec. 4, 2019, the Freedom High School varsity gymnastics team held the first home meet, dedicating the night to the seniors.

It was a successful night for the team as they placed first with a total score of 145.025. Following the team was John Champe with 128.900, Broad Run with 113.825 and Rock Ridge with 83.800.

“Everyone performed really well and there’s always room for improvement, so it was really exciting,” coach Kara Dale said.

The two seniors on the team are Savannah Lee and Bre Roeder. On vault, Roeder received a score of 9.05 and Lee received an 8.90 on floors.

“It was really fun. Everyone performed really well for the first meet and we’re all just really happy as a team,” said Emily Bymers, senior manager.

Sophomore Liliana Gines opened the meet singing the national anthem.

The FHS varsity gymnastics team is looking forward to improving their performance in any way and hopefully continue placing first in the following meets.
