On May 2, 2020, the Thunderbirds of the U.S. Air Force and Blue Angels of the U.S. Navy flew together over the DMV area, starting around Prince George County Hospital in Maryland, crossing into Virginia and circling there, and finishing across the National Mall. The joint flyover by the two was organized to honor the front-line workers that have been working tirelessly during this pandemic.

Residents from all over Chantilly gathered safely along route 50 and 28 to catch a glimpse of the flyover. In the Chantilly Crossing Target and Costco parking lots, dozens of families and individuals of all ages parked and waited, in a safe, socially distanced manner, to see the the two squadrons in the air together.

As the planes crossed the area, cheers and shouts of support could be heard from all around the parking lot.

Please stay safe and continue to practice social distancing. Everyone that attended this location stayed over six feet apart and with their families, and many were seen wearing masks.
