Social media has grown increasingly prevalent in the world today. It has developed and advanced in recent years. Just as of July 23, 2023 Twitter changed its name to X after being around for 17 years. Still though people continue to flee to each social app for many different reasons. Teens utilize and attribute to social media the most. With so many different apps this arises the question of what apps do teen believe is the best and what the reason is teens use these apps so much more than the rest.
“I used TikTok the most,” said junior Carrieann Keroloes, “But, it was distracting me from school too much.”
This is a big attribution as to why social media is so popular because it’s distracting for people especially teenagers. Teens find themselves getting lost as they scroll for hours. According to the Washington Post, two-thirds of teens in the United States use TikTok.
“I’m on TikTok the most because it’s addictive,” said senior Caitlin Wagner.
That is the big catch with social media especially in present times is how addictive it can be.
While there are so many different social apps available now it would appear for many teens, within FHS and around the world, that TikTok is the most used app.
