On July 9, 2024, Virginia’s Governor Glenn Youngkin issued Executive Order 33, in which phones would be off and away during the school day. In 2025, the law was passed, and in 2026, it was implemented across LCPS. Prior to this policy, students could use their personal devices outside of instructional time. Freedom Broadcast’s Lillian Wang and Joanna Matechak interviewed students to see what they thought of the change.
