On Friday, Feb. 5, Freedom partnered with Loudoun Hunger Relief and hosted a Cereal Drive. Loudoun Hunger Relief is a local organization that ensures all members of the Loudoun community have access to sufficient, nutritious food. Hundreds of boxes of cereal were collected to support the Loudoun community.
The event was organized by SCA and NHS to also collect boxes for class spirit points. Each student was given a T-shirt in their class color after donating a box of cereal.
Junior Jillian Morse was one of the many students who brought many boxes of cereal to support the community while also bringing in spirit points for their class.
“I heard about the cereal drive and Freedom’s goal of 2,000 boxes to donate to Loudoun Hunger, so I was eager to help my school and community!” Morse said.
The drive was a way to not only help others, but also show school spirit in a COVID-19 friendly way.
