On Oct.17, Freedom held its third Annual Homecoming Parade. Clubs of various kinds came together to display their banners. Designs on the banners displayed cultural, artistic and scholarly details. These banners were created by a multitude of different clubs and their members who contributed to the creation of their banners. This tradition is a way to bring the South Riding community in one place. Elementary students the community participated in watching the parade as well.
Many different kinds of clubs walk from the Dulles South Recreation Center back to Freedom displaying their banners and handing out candy to kids (including affinity groups and sports). The Homecoming Parade is a continuation of Freedom’s goal to continue to advocate for unity in public education.
