The MSA Iftar Potluck, held on Monday, March 2, from 5-8 p.m., brought together a diverse group of students, families and community members for a night of unity and cultural exchange. The event welcomed both Muslims and non-Muslims, creating a space where people could connect and learn from one another. What further pushed this memorable night was that it was done in the spirit of Ramadan. Regardless of attendees participating in Ramadan or being Muslim, the Iftar facilitated an atmosphere that was welcoming and open to all.
The MSA Iftar Potluck was a great moment of unification and appreciation for the diversity of the community that is at Freedom High School. The event was more than just sharing a meal, it celebrated the richness of different cultures through a variety of traditional dishes, cultural clothing, and the presence of family members. Attendees had the opportunity to experience traditions that transcended beyond food and prayer, displaying a deeper sense of community and belonging.
The nightly event also featured engaging activities such as reading Duas from Dua jars, enjoying cultural music, and participating in a raffle. These elements implemented an interactive and festive atmosphere, which made the event memorable and enjoyable at the same time.
