The Freedom High School gymnastics team competed for the state title on Feb. 15 in Virginia Beach, VA. The team had a successful season winning every regular season meet. The team won states in 2016 and 2018, making this the third state title. At the state tournament, freshman Liliana Gines placed third in the all-around with a score of 37.6. Since the team is composed of mainly freshmen and sophomores, it gives them the confidence for another state title next year.
“I’m feeling very confident that we can do it again next year,” said sophomore Riley Waldrop.
