On Jan. 8, FHS wrestlers beat Rockridge by a score of 68-9. All season long, FHS wrestling has dominated at tournaments, placing multiple wrestlers on the podium. On Dec. 14, 2019, FHS won a fifth consecutive LCPS Championship placing 11 out of 14 weight classes. FHS also racked up a whopping 199 points to defeat both Dominion and Loudoun County who tied for second with 167.5 points. All 16 Loudoun County Public high schools competed in the two day tournament on Dec. 13 and Dec. 14.

Junior Jake Beyer (132 pounds) and senior Cole Singer (220) both won individual titles for their weight classes, while senior Tim Nguyen finished second for the 160 weight class.

During winter break, FHS competed in the Joe Verciglio Memorial tournament on Jan. 4 and Jan. 5. Once again multiple wrestlers were able to place for FHS with Beyer and Singer placing first, and senior Jacob Edwards (285) placing second. Beyer was able to seal the deal with a takedown in OT to claim the 132 weight class title. Overall FHS finished fourth out of the other 16 teams at the tournament.

On Jan. 11, FHS placed second as a team in the Freedom Duals. With the amount of success the wrestling team is having and will continue to have, they’ll look to make another run at states.
