“Avengers Infinity War” continues to crush box office records.

Whether or not you are an Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) fan, it is no surprise that “Avengers Infinity War” is one of the biggest movies of the year so far due to its $300 billion budget. The New York Times supports this claim by stating that the movie, “Landed the biggest global opening ever,” not to mention it featured more than 32 on screen heroes, which was unheard of.

“Avengers Infinity War” is showing now!

The plot is just as big as it’s box office debut. Previous MCU movies such as “Thor: The Dark World,” “Captain America” and “Guardians of The Galaxy” have featured hidden references to the infinity stones normally at the end of the film. One of the most common of these objects is the Tesseract which protects the space stone. The “big bad” featured in “Avengers Infinity War” is not necessarily new to the MCU either.

Thanos first made his official on screen appearance as the antagonist in “Guardians of The Galaxy.” He has the goal to collect all six of the infinity stones: time, mind, soul, space, reality and power. By collecting each of the stones and placing them into his Asgardian gauntlet, he has the power to obliviate the entire universe. Although Thanos serves as a threat to all of existence, that doesn’t stop the Avengers from teaming up with other MCU heroes such as Spider-Man and Doctor Strange to attempt to ensure the survival of the universe.

During the battle against Thanos, there were many different places in which team ups take place. The movie started in New York City, then moved to Asgard, Wakanda, outer space, as well as parts of Europe. As far as team ups in Wakanda, Captain America, The Winter Soldier, Black Panther, Rocket and Groot along with others battle the intergalactic “space dogs” invading the borders of Wakanda. Although many of the team ups are in separate places, the Heroes fight together in different locations to eliminate the greatest threat to the universe, who is gaining on the infinity stones at a nerve wracking pace.

Another important plot line followed is the connection between Thanos and his adopted daughter Gamora, who is a guardian of the galaxy. The relationship was shown, through Gamora’s memories, to be emotionally abusive and manipulative, and Thanos often plays on that relationship in order to bring the downfall of all existence.

Spoiler Alert! Stop reading unless you want to know more information about the movie.

Also, as most MCU fans know, “Avengers Infinity War” is a recipe for the deaths of our favorite heroes. Many heroes die to the hands of Thanos and his army for a multitude of reasons, which often include sacrificing themselves in order to save their loved ones. Once Thanos collects all of the infinity stones and places them on his gauntlet, the universe turns to oblivion. As seconds pass by the heroes on the screen evaporate into ashy dust before the viewers eyes. The producers and screenwriters squeezed in just enough time for the viewer to feel not only the shock of their deaths, but the grief that comes with it.

On a lighter note, it wouldn’t be a Marvel movie without some comic relief. As Marvel tradition follows, witty banter between beloved characters is sprinkled into every scene with perfect timing, not to mention Stan Lee’s infamous cameo.

Overall, “Avengers Infinity War” is everything an MCU fan could ask for in a film. Everything down to the cinematography was perfectly planned with plenty of details to soak in. I advise not only MCU fans, but all lovers of movies to go watch “Avengers Infinity War” because you won’t regret it.
